Phoenix International Raceway: Track Facts Videos
Located: Avondale, Arizona, USA
Opened: 1964
Track Length: 1 mile D-shaped oval and 1.5 mile infield road course
Banking: 11 degrees in turns 1 & 2; 9 degrees in turns 3 & 4; 3 degrees on the frontstretch; and 9 degrees on the backstretch
Trivia: Pheonix International Raceway is one of the most oddly shaped tracks on the circuit because the owner of the facility didn't want to alter the shape of the existing road course to accommodate an oval. That road course, which was mostly used for testing, has since been replaced by the 1.5 mile infield road course, but the remains of it are still clearly visible.
